Recommended Migration Steps from BASE to BASE Pro

  1. Create a Child Theme (Optional but Ideal)
    • Create a child theme from BASE Pro, named BASE Pro – Company Name
      • This enables future customization without editing the core theme
      • Bonus: future BASE Pro updates won’t overwrite their changes
  2. Transfer Theme Settings
    • Go to Design Tools > Themes > BASE
    • Open the theme settings and manually copy all customized settings (colors, fonts, spacings)
    • Open BASE Pro (or its child) and replicate those settings. There’s no native "copy theme settings" feature in HubSpot, so this has to be done manually for now.
  3. Switch Page Template
    • Change the page template to the equivalent one from BASE Pro (or child)
    • You’ll lose your global header/footer
  4. Migrate Header & Footer
    • With the new BASE Pro page open the global header and footer 
    • Rebuild the global header and footer using modules from the BASE Pro theme.
